Red Ribbon Week Service Project: Collecting Donations for the Children's Shelter of San Antonio

In observance of Red Ribbon Week, Lytle ISD students will participate in a service project to promote drug awareness. The donations that students collect during Red Ribbon week will be donated to the Children’s Shelter of San Antonio. The shelter provides a safe place for children who are survivors of abuse, neglect, and abandonment in San Antonio, Bexar County and surrounding counties as well. Please support our students as they learn about the dangers of drugs and the far reaching effects of drug use. Each campus will collect a different item that is specific to the needs of the shelter. Your donations of the following items would be greatly appreciated:

High School and Junior High: Hygiene products (examples-tooth brushes, hair brushes, shampoo & conditioner etc.)

Elementary and Primary: Art supplies (examples-water paints, paint brushes, crayons, drawing paper etc.)

“INSPIRE” Cross Country INVITATIONAL

This will be the first time Lytle ISD has ever hosted a XC meet. Of the 11 girls' teams attending, 5 participated in the state meet last year with Bandera being 3-time STATE CHAMPIONS. On the boys' side 2 teams were at the state meet along with a lot of the individuals from both the boys and girls side. This will be a very competitive meet and I hope that our whole community comes and watch our kids participate here at home.

Hoping to see many in our community out here to watch and cheer our runners on! If you would like to volunteer to help with this important meet, please contact Gilbert Ruiz at gruiz@lytleisd.com
